This is a 42" dogwood walking stick that I fashioned from a piece I found in the woods. The natural curl of the stick drew me to it, so I decided not to carve anything on it, just to let the wood speak for itself...
This is a 54" cedar hiking stick with a vine design I burned into it. I took the wood from a small cedar tree at my brother's place. We were loading firewood for him when I spotted the small tree and just couldn't resist...
These two photos are of a 53" sweetgum hiking stick with a face and grip carved into it. I located this piece a while back when I was walking to the other side of the property... I cut the piece out and used it for a while as a walking stick.

These two photos are of a 53" oak hiking staff I carved and painted. I left the natural curve of the piece in the head of the carving allowing for the unsymmetrical look of the face, it fits the hand well. This piece I took from the limb of an oak that fell in my brother's yard a while back.
